"Please Ask. Please Tell."

February 28, 2011 -- The Fling women's party takes place on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 5:30pm on the top floor of Jillian's in downtown Indianapolis -- the night before the Women's College Basketball Championship semi-final games which are being staged at Conseco Fieldhouse.

The Fling event, presented by the WNBA, Her Fanz, Olivia, and WomenTalkSports.com, is an early evening party that includes a delicious dinner buffet, drink specials, entertainment, appearances by pro athletes, coaches, and celebrities, sports on TV, dancing, and amazing giveaways. This year's theme is "Please Ask. Please Tell."

The Fling's Honorary Committee has attracted some well-known names in women's sports, business, and entertainment including: Hall of Fame Coach of the Indiana Fever Lin Dunn, The Indigo Girls, LPGA golf champion Rosie Jones, comedienne Karen Williams, former WNBA all-star Sue Wicks, NCLR's Helen Carroll who is also a national championship basketball coach, Olivia's Vice President Jill Cruse who is a former basketball and softball coach, filmmaker Dee Mosbacher, author and activist Pat Griffin, and the only out head coach in the NCAA Sherri Murrell from Portland State, to name a few.

Jody Sims, producer of the Fling, reflects on why she created the Fling . . .

"I want to recognize lesbain sports fans, thank them for their support, and provide an opportunity for them to meet and have fun, in the hopes they will encourage more women to support and attend women's games. In addition, the Fling raises awareness to the devastating impact of homophobia in women's sports. It's not only players and coaches, but also fans who are affected by homophobia." The NCLR (National Center for Lesbian Rights) Sports Project is the beneficiary of the Fling.

Jill Cruse statement: "Before Olivia, I was a PE teacher and Basketball/Softball Coach at both the High school and College Levels in California. I completely understood the homophobia that accompanied being in this position, and I too, was deeply in the closet. To now have the opportunity to support and be a part of the Final Four Fling that is supporting NCLR in its fight against homophobia in sports is great. Olivia completely supports this, as do I personally."
