Hotel collaborates with Rev. Giovanna Piazza to provide meaningful, customized ceremonies to couples seeking a spiritual leader for their special day

(Costa Mesa, CA 02-19-08)-- Couples wishing to declare a life of love and devotion need to look no further than the Wyndham Orange County, which is providing an elegant setting for same-sex couples to exchange their vows. Located in heart of Costa Mesa’s famed Theater and Arts District, Wyndham OC offers couples an idyllic lakeside setting, a dedicated commitment ceremony coordinator, and customized food and beverage menus for their special day.

“Commitment ceremonies represent a significant and meaningful step for same-sex couples and Wyndham Orange County is dedicated to sharing the joy, celebration, and beauty of their ceremony in a warm, welcoming environment,” says General Manager Thomas Smalley. “I created this package for couples who might otherwise feel uncomfortable taking vows in public. It is my core belief that this is simply the right thing to do.”

Wyndham Orange County has also teamed up with the Rev. Giovanna Piazza—a priest of the Ecumenical Catholic Communion—who is available to same-sex couples holding their commitment ceremonies at Wyndham OC. Operating on the principle that the celebration of love and commitment through public vows are not limited by sexual orientation, Rev. Piazza creates personalized commitment ceremonies based on the religious or spiritual background of each couple and crafts vows that reflect the unique elements of their relationship.

Wyndham Orange County Commitments “Public declarations of commitment are a rare and beautiful thing, and I am here to provide a substantial, meaningful and unique experience for each couple; a foundation for their future lives together,” says Piazza.

“I am excited to be part of this incredible initiative and to offer my services to members of the GLBT community who are looking for a sensitive spiritual leader to guide their ceremony. Wyndham Orange County has shown great leadership; this has the potential to be transformational in Orange County.”

Smalley, a firm believer that many same-sex couples simply do not know where to turn when planning their special day, is dedicated to showing the community that exceptional commitment ceremonies are available in Orange County. “We are saying ‘Welcome! Let’s celebrate this extraordinary occasion together!’”

In honor of Wyndham OC’s exciting new initiative, the hotel is offering half off on the lakeside site fee for any couples booking commitment ceremonies in 2008.
